Our congregation is thankful for a long and rich history of service for Christ and His church. Peachtree Corners Presbyterian Church ARP (Associate Reformed Presbyterian) was first chartered as Prosperity Church on August 11, 1836 on what is now Peachtree Road within the City of Chamblee (the City of Chamblee was not officially granted a state charter until 1909).
The congregation originally met in a log house near the present Prosperity Cemetery in Chamblee. During the siege of Atlanta in the Civil War, Sherman’s men camped in the church and used the communion table for firewood. The church cemetery from the original church is still in use and is located at the North City Limits of Chamblee, Georgia.
In 1872 the congregation moved to Doraville and changed its name to the Doraville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. In February 2000 the church moved to its present location in Peachtree Corners.
