Our History

Peachtree Corners Presbyterian Church was first organized in 1836 in DeKalb County. We have worshipped in our present facility in Peachtree Corners since 2000. Though our congregation has worshipped in different buildings and under different names in its long and storied history, by God's grace we remain a faithful body of believers. We are thankful that our community of believers continue to grow in Christ and love for one another.

Who We Are

We are sinners saved by grace alone. We have been forgiven much; therefore, we also can forgive. We welcome those who are seeking, who are hurting, who are wondering how to reconnect with a God they thought they once knew. We welcome your questions. We invite you to find out why we believe in the God revealed in Jesus Christ.

In everything we do, we seek to be faithful to God's Word and to share the love of Christ for the glory of God and the advancement of the Kingdom. We are called to go into all the world and make Christ's name known among the nations, beginning right here in Peachtree Corners.

What We Believe

We are part of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian (ARP) denomination, which is conservative in its theology. The denomination's roots go back to Scotland. In the early 1700's, two groups split off from the Church of Scotland. Members of these two branches who had immigrated to America united in 1782 to form the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. The ARP church of today began as a primarily rural denomination concentrated in the Southeast, but has followed the flow of people into urban centers, across the country, and into Canada. With just over 290 congregations, relationships are strong between individual churches as well as members. The denominations sponsors Erskine College and Erskine Theological Seminary in Due West, South Carolina. The denomination's camp and conference center, called Bonclarken, is located near Hendersonville, North Carolina. ARP missionaries serve around the globe.

We hold to the Westminster Confession of Faith, emphasizing the following:

  • The Bible is the Word of God; the only infallible rule of faith and practice.
  • God is the Creator and Sovereign Ruler of the universe.
  • Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the only Savior from sin.
  • The Holy Spirit enables us to begin and continue to live the Christian life.
  • Salvation is by God's grace and is not earned but is received through faith.

Mission and Vision

Our mission is to move people from unbelief to spiritual maturity. We live out our mission by developing redemptive friendships and ministering in Jesus’ name, freely offering the gospel, and making disciples through Christ-centered worship and teaching that glorifies God and transforms lives.

Our vision is to be a fellowship of believers in Jesus Christ that glorifies God, loves our neighbors, and is being transformed by His Word and Spirit.

Our mission and vision are based on these words of Jesus:

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20 ESV

Go! Make Disciples!
